  1. Oil     3    tbsp
  2. Cinnamon Pieces (Patta)     1    piece
  3. Fennel Seeds(Perumjeerakam)     ½    tsp
  4. Cumin Seeds     ½    tsp
    1. Chopped Onion      ½    cup
    2. Chopped Tomatoes      1    cup
    3. Potato  cubed    1    cup
    4. Turmeric Powder      ½    tsp
    5. Red Chilli Powder      1    tsp
    6. Cumin Seeds Powder      ½    tsp
    7. Salt  to taste    ½    tsp
    8. Chopped Capsicum      1    cup


  1. Heat oil in a pan, add the remaining seasoning ingredients.
  2. Stir briefly, till the seeds are golden brown; about 30 seconds.
  3. Add onions and tomatoes to the skillet. Stir-fry for a minute.
  4. Add the potatoes and turmeric powder. Stir well. Cover and cook with 1/2 cup of warm water over medium heat, stirring often, 2-3 minutes.
  5. Sprinkle in the chilli powder, cumin powder and salt. Mix well and cook till gravy is thick.
  6. Stir in the bell peppers. Cook covered over low-medium heat, till vegetables are tender and serve warm.
