  1. Kaada     2    nos.
  2. Chopped Onion     2    nos.
  3. Small Onion / Shallot     3    cup
  4. Chopped Green Chillies     6    nos.
  5. Chopped Ginger     2    tsp
  6. Chopped Garlic     4    tsp
  7. Red Chilli Powder     3    tsp
  8. Coriander Powder     2    tsp
  9. Pepper Powder     2    tsp
  10. Garam Masala     2    tsp
  11. Coconut Milk Thin    2    cup
  12. Cinnamon Pieces (Patta)     1    piece
  13. Cloves (Kariampo)     4    nos.
  14. Mace     2    nos.
  15. Salt to taste    ½    tsp
  16. Curry Leaves     1    stalk
  17. Oil     2    tbsp


  1. Clean the kaada and marinate it with pepper powder and salt and set aside for 1/2 an hour.
  2. Heat oil in a pan and add cinnamon, cloves and mace. fry for a minute and add chopped shallots& onions. Saute it well for 10 minutes.
  3. Add chopped green chilies, ginger and garlic and cook for 5 minutes stirring continuously.
  4. Make a paste with red chile powder garam masala and coriander powder by adding a little thin coconut milk.
  5. Stir in the paste and the kaada and saute well. Add salt and curry leaves.
  6. Stir fry this over a low heat for 15 minutes, covering the kaada with masala.
  7. Add thin coconut milk and 1 cup water and simmer for 20 minutes, or until the meat is tender and gravy is thick.
  8. Serve warm.
