  1. Seer fish     1    Kg
  2. Finely Chopped Ginger     2    pieces
  3. Chopped Small Onion / Shallot Cut lengthwise    2    cups
  4. Green Chillies -chopped    6    nos.
  5. Coriander Powder     3    tbsp
  6. Chilli Powder     3    tbsp
  7. Turmeric Powder     1    tsp
  8. Coconut Milk (First Milk)     2    cups
  9. Coconut Milk (Second Milk)    6    cups
  10. Coconut Oil     4    tbsp
  11. Curry Leaves     4    stalks
  12. Kudampuli     9    pieces
  13. Salt to taste     ½    tsp
  14. For seasoning
    1. Small Onion / Shallot  cut into round    6    nos.
    2. Dried Red Chilli      6    nos.
    3. Chilli Powder      1    tsp
    4. Coconut Oil      1    tbsp


  1. Combine chopped shallots, ginger, green chilli, four table spoon coconut oil and curry leaves using hand.
  2. Mix it with cleaned fish pieces in a vessel (manchatty) placed over the flame.
  3. Then add coriander powder, turmeric powder, chilly powder, salt, second milk and kudampuli(gambooge) and mix well. Let them cook.
  4. Once the fish is cooked and gravy is thick, add first milk. When it starts to boil remove it from fire.
  5. Heat oil in a pan. Add small onion,dry red chilli, curry leaves and little chilly powder. Saute it. Now pour this seasoning over the curry.
  6. Serve hot along with best combination.
